CHOREOGRAPHIC CENTRE OF VALENCIA WORKSHOP 2005 . INFO
It was in summer, in the heat of August. For many a terrible effort doing anything that was not to rest under a tree in the middle of a forest or to lay down in the beach watching at the sea. For me it was to be born again. August is my favorite month. I was born in its sine and was indeed in August when I felt that I was back in syntony with my way in the dance. I recovered the sense for it of the hand of Kazuko Hirabayasi. Her classes of composition gave me the base that I was looking for on wich to be able to play, to lean on,either if I finally follow it or not. Having a clear guide is fundamental in any discipline and very against what many may think, the art of choreography is very scientist. It needs a methodology and like a tree that grows it needs a good earth that nourishes it and offers fixedness. Thus it will be developed with solid roots, strong trunk and as high top as it can dream.

But I had a good time not only with Kazuko. Also I worked with Eva Bertomeu, Valencian choreographer of an exquisite sensitivity and coherence. The piece that she chose to work was very touching, appealed to very strong feelings in my interior, until the point that, at the moment that my body understood the movement, where it started off and what it expressed, I cried in several occasions. By the american side, I worked with Nathan Trice, choreographer of energetic movements and life force. I deeply welcome his work because it took from me all my impetus and animal forces out to the time that opned a new way to me to move, more winding, sensual
I am very greatful to all of them and also to Mauro Galindo, teacher of classic ballet who helped me each morning to set myself in the right positiion, waking up my body with his classes and being able to confront better the day and my mates, as much the Spaniards as the foreigners specially to Peter and Mariko who I always take them in my pockets.
